Sweet and Spicy Pecansby Mary Ellen 11/24/2001 5:45 pm Makes about 3 cups. 1 cup granulated sugar Combine sugar, water, ground chiles and salt in saucepan and cook over medium heat until syrup spins a thread (232 degrees F on a candy thermometer). Remove from heat. Add pecans, stirring until well coated. Pour onto well-greased baking sheet, using two forks to separate nuts as they cool. Store airtight. |
